Global Cleveland is looking to recruit professionals from the region’s human resource business community to help job seekers inside and outside our region find employment. A coaching relationship can take many forms (personal visits, email correspondence, telephone calls), but the key to successful coaching is regular communication with assigned job seekers over a period of weeks. During those weeks, clients rely on their coach to provide meaningful support in many ways.
Job search coaching is a critical component of Global Cleveland’s talent attraction programs. Finding a job is the most efficient way to attract newcomers and retain them in our region. Job search coaching is a process. The entire process – from exploring the industry sectors and job opportunities in our region, to the moment of starting to look for a job, to implementing the job search plan – can be very rewarding for the client and the coach.
Global Cleveland seeks to have volunteer job search coaches to be available at the Global Cleveland Welcome Hub to meet with job-seeking clients during regular business hours, by appointment and occasionally walk-in clients.
Global Cleveland also seeks to recruit volunteer job search coaches to be available to job-seeking clients off-site from the Welcome Hub, by appointment only. This additional off-site coaching consists of an initial one-hour meeting or phone call with a job-seeking client, followed by shorter weekly sessions for approximately 3 to 5 weeks per client. Off-site location is determined between coach and client; meeting at the Welcome Hub during regular business hours is always available.
